Placenta Encapsulation
After birth, the placenta is safely picked up or dropped off, thoroughly cleaned, steamed or dehydrated (based on your chosen method), dried, and finely ground into capsules. These capsules are returned to you within a few days and are commonly used to support postpartum recovery, energy levels, and hormonal balance.
Above all, I treat your placenta with honor and respect and recognize the sacred qualities it holds as the nourishment source for your baby and you.
Placenta Services
For centuries, across the world, women have ingested their placentas to promote recovery from birth. There is no supplement, organic or man-made, that can compare with the placenta’s healing and nutritive benefits to the postpartum mother.
While there have only been a few scientific studies done on the effects of ingesting the placenta, both research and anecdotal evidence suggests the following:
Increased milk supply
Regulation of hormones
A faster recovery to the body's pre-pregnancy state
Increased iron levels
A happier mood postpartum
Decreased postpartum bleeding
Decreased likelihood of PMAD (Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders)
Your placenta is perfectly formed to nourish your baby in utero. It contains a delicate balance of nutrients and hormones, and once detached, the drop in hormones often leaves us feeling excessively tired and moody; even prolonging the healing process. Supplementing your body’s efforts with your encapsulated placenta can make the transition from pregnancy to postpartum gentler and easier.
I hold myself to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety and perform each encapsulation. I follow universal precautions for bloodborne pathogens and strict food handling standards.
